I have a 1981, 36ft Hunter. It has a pressurized two (2) burner alcohol stove with oven. I want to change the two burners to Natural Gas. Looking for any ideas where I might get just the burners. My intention is to replace the existing burners. Has anyone done this and is it a difficult process? Not going to convert the oven, it's used for storage.

JC

With all the bad press about changing to CNG I’ve come to the conclusion that that’s a bad road to go down.
Thanks for all the input.

Taking into consideration the current difficulties in finding a ready supply of portable tanks and filling stations for natural gas I would recommend you go to a non-pressurized alcohol stove and purchase one. Propane would be a viable option but rather expensive to install.

I switched from CNG to LP three years ago because CNG wasn't available here. I still have the stove ( which was still working when I made the switch), two tanks, some hose and regulator. I live in west central Wisconsin. If you are interested maybe we can work something out.

Not really feasible because you have to change the valves as well as the burners. The valves have to have the safety cut-off in the event the flame is blown out..You can actually do that, but it would end up costing more than the stove would.. The Origo type non pressurized stove would be a good option, or you could modify the top of the stove and install a gas cooktop.

Might be interested in taking one of those tanks off your hands if you were interested in selling. I've got CNG, and having a spare tank would certainly be handy when the one starts getting low. I sail out of Racine, so might be able to work out picking it up some time.

Some one else has already expressed interest in the whole setup. If they pass, I'll let you know.
