Hi,

First off I don't know a lot about boats so please forgive me.

1. I have an 25' 1981 Hunter. The part the outboard engine is mounted to (the square part .. transom?) has a crack and I'd like to replace it. Where can I buy one of these for cheap but still maintain quality?

2. The part that is mounted to the boat (that is connected to the part that I'm talking about in 1 above) at the back of the boat is kind of loose and the engine leans to one side. I'm not sure if the whole thing needs to be replaced or if the bolts just need to be tightened. Does anyone have any recommendations for this?

Thanks!:)

Are you writing about the motor board as in this illustration?: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/t...061050&cm_ite=0000921017511a&_requestid=90674 .
The transom is the stern of the boat, the entire vertical section of fiberglas.

You need to go inside the boat and see if the bolts/washers/nuts are on sound fiberglass. Or maybe the bolt heads are inside and the washers/nuts on the outside. Either way if the stern is solid then you should be able to tighten up the brackets.

The mounting board itself can usually be repaired. I made a new one by epoxying two pieces of 3/4" plywood together. Then I shaped it and completely sealed it with epoxy after drilling countersunk holes for the bolt heads. If you can make out the manufacturer perhaps you can order just the mounting board.
