I am thinking of adding an anchor roller on a plank type bowsprit and a rope (chain)locker to my 1994 MacGregor. One, the other or both. Folks on the MacGregor List had some thoughts on this and one person had actually done it. I am writing to see if anyone else had any advice etc. Anywhere on the scale between "Forget It" and "It Was Easy is fine". (Although I am unlikely to believe the last.) Thanks, Jim

Jim, I know that on my Macgregor 23, the bow sprit came with the boat and has a stay underneath it to the hull and a a stay connects to the tip of it.It dont know if pulling the boat by the anchor rhode and chain to get it up would effect the tension on the stays in an adverse way or not ??? . I have often thought of putting a roller device up forward but I would have to be on the bow and off the sprit on my boat due to the stays and also its very narrow...Good luck......smitroe
