Hi Folks,
I have a Volvo 2002 diesel in my boat and it seems that the gauges become less accurate as the engine warms up. It acts like there may be a voltage regulator for the gauges that doesn't maintain the right voltage.
What happens is that all the gauges begin reading off the norm. The voltmeter will begin reading lower. Sometimes as low as 8 volts, but I've measured the battery while charging and it's clear that it's not 8. The temp gauge will read way too high, but the engine temp is normal. The oil pressure will read low, but seems to track with the other gauges. The tach and fuel gauge seem fine. If the engine is shut off for 15-20 minutes and restarted, the gauges are fine for a time.
Anyone seen this with a Volvo before?
