Anyone have any comments ( good or bad) on the Hunter Vision 36. This is the model with a free standing mast. The one I am interested in is 1993 model.

Steve: We love ours. There are the obvious pros/cons with the unstayed rig. Running down wind is great. We made a trip down wind over July 4th. Winds were blowing 25-35kts. We had the full main up and we were doing 8-10kts SOG.

The boats preformance is generally good, not great. The interior space is amazing. The vberth is not the best, but okay for 2 people. Good preformance under power. We have a dodger & bimini on ours. It is dry ride. Lots of other things that you can ask me about.

I have owned my 1994 Hunter Vision 36 for a year and a half and consider it a very stable platform. Pros- great downwind performance, comfortable accomodations, love the electric winch, good amount of storage with two swim platform lockers, two on either side of the helm seat, plenty of opening hatches and ports, lots of light down below.
Cons - Upwind performance not great, mine does not have a windlass, Thats all I can think of for now. Hope this helps
