Took our Vision 36 for a trip out around Anclote Key today and enjoyed some of Irene's wind. Was tickled pink to hit a nice sustained 9 knots, even with what I've been told has an 8 knot hull design.
If you seasoned sailors watch the video, excuse the slop in my sail. Lazy jacks needed let out and could've done a little to tighten up the main but hey, I got 9 knots so I'm happy as a clam.

Just think how much faster they could have gone if they got all the wrinkles out of the main sail. Makes you wonder.

Great video. Loved the whooping over making 9 knots. Dang, I wanna sail this weekend.

SOG??

I don't want to throw any cold water on the obviously great sail, but your meter clearly reads SOG--speed over the ground, which means that it is reading the speed as measured by a GPS. What the hull experiences is SOW--speed over the water, which could be less or even more, depending on the currents. Do you have a speed through the water (knotmeter) reading taken at the time?

I don't care what "Ivan-the-S.O.G." says. I still wanna go sailing this weekend! And I still loved the whooping and hollering, too!
