We are considering adding two cleats to the mast, one at about the same height as the jib halyard cleat (but on the port side)to take up our snuffer lines on our Asymetric - the other mounted lower on the starboard side for our Gennaker's tack line. Are there any dangers in this? Are we compromising the "Mighty Mast" integrity in any way? Any advice on where best to locate the turning blocks for the Asymetric's sheet lines? They are currently attached port and starboard to the bases of the aftermost stanchions before the cockpit, and a sailing buddy of mine thinks they'd do better located further aft. Would this make a difference? Last question...Has anyone attached a block to the mast collar? I am considering a turning block on each side of the mast collar, one to accomodate winching the jib halyard, and the other to run the Tack line for the Asymetric up to that cleat mentioned above. Thanks in advanceRick and Carol Perkinss/v Noteworthy
