I am almost certain that turbines are not AIS objects here in the UK. On small and medium scale charts the wind farms or arrays are chart objects. I haven't seen individual turbines as chart objects but they could be. I have no idea how their presence will be indicated in fog.

I wa surprised by your question, having assumed that AIS was for movable objects, ie ships and aeroplanes. However, thanks to Wikipedia I understand where you are coming from:

"AIS was developed with the ability to broadcast positions and names of objects other than vessels, like navigational aid and marker positions. These aids can be located on shore, such as in alighthouse, or on the water, on platforms or buoys. The US Coast Guard suggests that AIS might replace racon (radar beacons) currently used for electronic navigation aids.[1]"

Is that any more than a suggestion?

I expect that we'll see more and more offshore wind turbines and I was
merely wondering out loud how to live with them. I favor them for clean
power but want a limit on the gadgets I need for the boat. Radar is more
than I want. AIS, maybe.

I agree! Just think we would be running,indirectly, off electric power and how green is that? And we would not be buying any diesel fuel.
