Greetings - My wife and I are going to the US Virgin Islands August 24 for about a week or so for our 20th wedding anniversary. We are staying at the Marriott resort on St. John. I would REALLY like to see about chartering a boat for maybe 3 or 4 days out of the BVI - Tortola. I think the perfect scenario is usually you go with a few other couples you know and like (hah) and basically spread the costs across more people. You sail, eat, drink, and just chill! This is the deal - we really don't want to have a boat for more than 3 or 4 days, i.e. it might be expensive. I want to see if there is anyone out there who might be interested in talking with me about sharing a boat from a charter company. My wife and I have contacted a few charter companies and they do rent to people for less than a week or 10 days. The key will be to agree on the time period, the dates, make sure we all get along and can start some quick meet/greets via email or phone. I have gotten some rough estimates per day charges and it seems to be around $200-250 for a boat. I thought the message board would be a good start.
