VIN number location 88 Macgregor trailer

Hi everyone, I need help to find the location or locations of the VIN numbers on the macgregor 26d 89- 88 model original tráiler, i have tried to find it stamped somewhere but havent located any plate or numbers, maybe the paint is covering them.

i found a sticker plate with a serial number but its very deteriorated and paint for the numbers is gone.

My '83 trailer is stamped on the top of the frame, starboard side near the front. I have no idea if this is factory or if it was done later. I usually make a habit of using a metal stamp kit to do this to all of my trailers for the very reason you mentioned.

Mine was on a sticker on the side just behind the tongue. I took a picture of it because it was deteriorating. and I was worried that the heat from welding would destroy it. The Luger 30 trailer was issued a new sticker by the DMV when we couldn't find it.l

FWIW, that's also where my '99 26X trailer ID plate is - stuck to the side, aft of the pole tongue, on the channel.

Thanks to all for your help, I will take a wire brush to search for it. or stamp them with the proper tool.

My sticker is about ware calguy's is on my 88 Mac26D trailer.
You may want to consider calling it "home built" if you can't find them and need to register it.
Unless you have an ownership with #'s on it. If so I'd stamp those on it.
I have 3 ownerships for my one 88 trailer... Long story. One is the ownership for a trailer kit, the next is a trailer with a different # than the kit, the 3rd is the one that was issued to me at the MTO for a home made trailer... They put the #'s of the kit on it.
(This reminds me I have to check and maybe punch some #'s too.)
