Vibration caused by damaged folding prop

I was coming into the marina under power in the dark and suddenly heard a loud bang. I was going about 1 knot in about 15 feelt of water when this happened. Cut the throttle and put the engine in neutral. Did not see anything in the water and do not know what I could have hit. Put the boat back in gear and had a lot of vibration and felt like there was a loses of power. I have a folding brass prop. Is it possible that one of the blades came loose and hit the bottom (the loud noise). I am planning on going for a dive under the boat this weekend to see what happened, but am curious if anyone might have some ideals as too what I should look for.

it happen to me also

What you wrote is what happen to me and still not sure what it was as the next day every thing was fine I thought it was just to much speed because I was goingto reverse to slow down for the slip and thought one side of the prop wouldnt extend again because of the foward motion of the boat. Good Luck JP

We have a answer

Had a diver check out the problem this weekend. Turns out the one of the blades on the folding prop is not opening all the way. The diver did find a small branch caught between the drive shaft and the hull. I guess I could have hit a submerged branch that messed up the blade. I am hoping that we can pull the prop and have it repaired.
