Viadana Hardware

I have never heard about them. What is your interest with their products? They sort of look like low end products. Are their prices better than the name brands?

I suggest that you take a look at the Garhauer Marine Products. They are excellent quality at "reasonable" prices.

Are they advertising by word of mouth? They are not doing a very good job. Italians make good cars and machinery, I would not doubt that they can make good marine hardware but I for one will not consider purchasing boat hardware that I do not see being used by boat manufacturers in the US. Our manufacturers are always looking to keep costs down but they also recognize they need to maintain certain quality standarts and reliable suppliers. If they have not gone for Viadana hardware I'll also pass at this time.

I looked at the web site. It looks like knock-offs of Harken, Garhaurer, Barton (low-line products themselves) and several other makers. Distributed here in the US by Sail Care in Pennsylvania. Over a lot of years I have had very little good luck with Italian made equipment. I'll stick with Garhauer and the other better known makers.

Uhm, I'm sure most of your remember what those letter stand for. I do recall the stick shift of my girlfriend's Spider coming off in my hand as I tried to drive out of the toll booth...

I am not sure that this is still the case. We have not seen Fiat's in the US for probably 2 decades. Hopefully for FIAT & Chrysler their QC issues are a thing of the past.

We can only hope that they have been able to achieve what Ford has done with their QC.
