VHF radio choice

I've have these to radio's and unsure which one is better, I realize there not new but I have them and both work
1) ic-m 100
2) westmarine 500 DSC
Any ideal of the range on both

I'm not familiar with those models, but DSC is a nice safety item providing you can put in an MMSI number. If it has already been loaded and you can't get control of that MMSI, then go buy a new radio or ship it back to the manufacturer to be reset.
The thing about DSC is it's a great way to summon emergency help providing it is connected to GPS or has an internal GPS.

Do a bit of reading online before you spend the money.
