VHF cable through cabin top--where?

I'm installing a vhf radio (mast mounted antenna) on my Hunter 26 and the many posts on the topic have been helpfull. My one remaining question is where is the best place near the mast step to drill a hole through the cabin top for the cable without damaging something structural or hitting the wires for cabin light or mast lights??Thanks

Near 12V

I'd consider putting a new deck connector near the 12 volt connection. The 12V deck connector at least will give a good reference point to locate from while considering your options to run the cable. Where are you mounting the radio? What will you use as a power source?Jeff
