In case any of you don't already know... Veterans Day was originally "Armistice Day," and has always been on Nov 11, because the armistice that ended WWI was signed on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. A congressional resolution recognized Armistice Day in 1926...it became a national holiday in 1938. In 1954 the name was changed to Veterans Day to honor the LIVING veterans (Memorial Day honors those who gave their lives) of all wars. It's still known as Armistice Day in Europe and the UK.
