Venting for external fuel tank

Does anyone have any advice about venting an external fuel tank on a Venture 22? I would like to be able to keep my fuel tank under the hatch on the starboard side of the cockpit without having to remove it after each sail. However, I am afraid to do so without proper venting and am not sure where the best placement would be without compromising hull integrity too much.

external venting

Steven, I have been wrestling with that same problem with my V21. I've seen several solutions in the archives, but couldnt find a knowledgeble saleseman to help me with the necessary parts-most said that it simply couldnt be done! I suspect they just wanted to sell me a permanent tank, vent thru-hulls, bilge blower, etc. e-mail me at oldiesrocker2001@yahoo.com a little later this week, and i might be able to send you some pics of my solution that included brass fittings into a spare fill cap, garden hose cut-off and brass and plastic thru-hulls. I opted to be able to remove the tank each time i left the boat(it gets hot in there!)since it sits a number of days untended and have it secured with bungee cords.
