Vented Loops

Our marine head appears to have a siphon created where water still fills the bowl (about half way) when the level is switched to the dry position. There is a vented loop with an air valve you can access in the cabinet above the head. Venting this loop does not solve the problem. Where is the other vented loop and how do you access it?

Vented Loop

There is usually only one vented loop on the flush water intake side. It should be on the hose from the pump to the head. The hose from the through hull to the pump will not have one. After switching to dry bowl there will still be some water entering from the hose with the vented loop. The 'other' vented loop should be on the hose to the holding tank, but this isn't needed on the 'head to holding tank only' system installed by Catalina. You would need one if you discharge directly overboard (not legal within 3 miles of the coast).
