Peggy If you don't get paid for answering all these incessant ramblings from us weekend warriors, you certainly should! :) Tom and I are almost finished with our "refit" of the head/holding tank system hoses and valves. By the way, the current price at West Marine for the SeaLand Odorsafe is $7.99 a foot. Geez! Anyway, I have one final (??) question: Why, if I am spending $100 or so on non-permeating waste hose do I have a little air vent on the vented loop that is at the top of the direct-overboard discharge line? Is that "vent" supposed to be vented via a hose to outside (it sure seems like it to me!)? Or how about I just plug the sucker and take my chances when the boat heels! :) If the vent does need to go outside, how best to accomplish such a venting? Specifically, how do I attach hose to vent on the loop, and what type of hose and all that? Thanks again, Ron Vanderveer

Thanks

Peggie Thanks, that's actually what the guy at West Marine told me, but I wasn't sure that I believed him. Now I do!! I do think that I will check that vent to make sure its not "leaking" air out, once we get the hose replaced. By the way, I absolutely think the Odorsafe hose is the way to go. Just thought I would sneak a little whining in there for levity! Take care, Ron
