vent placement

I just purchased a Catalina 25. I also purcahsed a new solar vent.

i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on vent plcaement.
I had thought about installing it just forward of the mast or installing it on the forward hatch.
Any experiences with either placement or alternate suggestions?

I've seen a lot of vents in hatches at our marina. Probably because you don't have to cut through core, headliner, & etc if you put it there. If I was going to put one in, and I've given it some thought but haven't made the purchase yet, I'd put it in the hatch.
