Hey Peggie, thanks for a great forum and you put me on the right track a year ago when I had some issues with the head. I'v now reached the point were I'll take your advice of increasing the vent line, I'm tired of having to clean the 3/4" or whatever is there and need something better.

I have a 2" hose leftover piece from redoing all the "active" plumbing and I wouldnt mind using it for this, its good quality santitation hose. I also checked the plug on there now and it seems to have a converter from the regular 2" to the 3/4" with some kinda plug, I think I can get that off and go straight to the tank but what type of fitting shold be on the outside of the boat ?

The current vent is close to the toe rail and high with a clamshell, would i just get a bigger clamshell or just go thru hull... Do you also have a recommended thruhull for this purpose? Also are there anything special about the connection to the tank?

thanks!
Gaute

If your only reason for changing it is to end maintaining it...

You might as well leave it alone...'cuz a larger diameter vent line requires just as much maintenance as the standard size.

I'm a bit perplexed by your hose sizes...when you say you have some 2" hose left, is that the outer diameter or the inner diameter? Hose sizes always use the INNER diameter...a 2" ID hose would be way too big to use on any sanitation system fittings. And I have NO idea what you mean by, "I also checked the plug on there now and it seems to have a converter from the regular 2" to the 3/4" with some kinda plug..."

So I think we need to actually TALK about what you have and what you want to do... Send me an email?

Hey Peggie, I'm not totally sure about those diameters, its been a while since I ordered the hose but its the standard Jabsco manual toilet both for water in and out, the out is bigger diameter and I thoght it was 2...

I'll email thogh, I'd really like to solve this before the season starts

Thanks!
