Aloha Ka'kou!
Just back from the Rendezvous at Port Browning, another smashing
success! Nine Vegas attended including the "$500 Vega", Matt Elder's
"Gull" V3076 which will be showcased in the Sisterships feature in the
next issue of "Fair Winds". Also present was Peter Bell with his new
San Juan, our friend from last year from the Northwest Albineers with
his Albin 25 and the sailing vessel "Donna Rose" plus crews without
boats from Montana and Hawaii.
There was wind enough for a bit of sailing, though we didn't get much
coming over from Anacortes aboard Wren with Jim and Gloria Elder.
David Bolton came in to Port Browning with his main deeply reefed and
informed us that he had encountered stiff winds on his voyage.
There was a pot luck dinner on Saturday with Jim and Gloria sponsoring
a wine tasting that made the evening. Afterward the party moved to
the pub for live music and dancing.
Unfortunately, due to mechanical difficulties, Brian Hofler wasn't
there to receive the Sidney A. Rosen Award for outstanding
contribution to the Association, for getting the Rendezvous ball
rolling and organizing two of the three events we have had so far, so
we drank a toast and talked about him behind his back. d;^) (I'll
mail you the plaque Brian)
That's all for now - photos by Laura in the next issue of "Fair Winds"
A hui ho!
