Hi all,
Yes,I know the Vega is not a wooden boat but we had a grand time
anyway. I attended several useful seminars on rigging, light air
sailing, more rigging, small boat cruising in Alaska and gunkholing in
Puget Sound to mention a few. Laura had to work at the West Marine tent.
Bill and Helen Bach came with their camper and Peter and Ulla jacobs
sailed in in Sin Tacha. I went to a seminar with Peter, watched a ball
game (Detroit beat the Mariners) with Bill and drank beer with both of
them. Yes, the VEGAarians were well represented and, for the most
part, well behaved. I also managed to get myself invited on a
day-sail on Monday on Lady Washington ( See
Grays Harbor Historical Seaport | Sail aboard the Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain ) so I managed to blow four days
getting no work done on Lealea at all.
After learning a few of the finer points on rigging, I got back to
work on Lealea's rig and took some photos and video of the process.
When I get some time I'll add them to the website and the next newsletter.
Aloha,
