I'm still trying to legally purchase Vega 265, here in the US. Here
is the latest silliness in the story. Because the previous owner
never registered the boat and just abandoned it, the marina had to
publicly advertise the sale for the boat. They advertised it as
an "Albin" Vega. But because the Vega's built before 1971
(according to the web site) were built by Larrson Trade, the
bureaucracy says that the boat was not correctly represented in the
original advertisement. So the marina had to publicly advertise the
boat again. Today is the last day of the required time period that
the boat has to be advertised, so hopefully, I'll get a clear
title to the boat, this week.

Chris, Good luck with it. When California updated their computer system a
few years back I couldn't renew my registration. The computer couldn't
handle a VIN with only 3 numbers. I guess they wound up re-programing it or
something. I think Lyric is now #000120. Walt

Good Luck Chris.
I sail Vega #280 in sweden. It¹s from 1968 so the boat you¹re trying to by
is probably from that year as well.
