Hi Craig
I'm sending you the pages showing the prop and rev. mechanism (to your
e-mail address)
I don't know how much you use your prop- but I would check the bushing (
#17). If it
needs to be replaced, you have to take out the shaft (and sleeve).
It looks scary, but it's easy once you've done it. Just open the locking
nut (#62) and then
open the 2 little doors (#85), loosen screws (#75.. there are 2) and
push the shaft back.
Be careful not to loose the key (#27 from prop. equipm), and be careful
to get the clamping
element (there may be 2) (# 63).
Once you have the shaft removed from the boat, open nut (#14) and give
it a good wack
(put some wood between the nut and the hammer), the shaft commes out
very easy from
the prop. DON'T do it the other way, like trying to push the prop off
the shaft!
I advise to replace bush (#17). To do this use a hack-saw blade and cut
a "V" into the
bushing (it's fiberglass). Then use a screw driver and just push the
bushing upwards
and it then should come out very easy. Clean everything good, and push a
new bushing
inside (again using a wooden media between hammer an bush).
I also recommend to check the stuffing box, at the least replace the
seal-rings (2) (#25)
Check the drawings for O-rings, replace them if you see water anywhere.
You can get
everything from Sweden - it's a small expense since you already have the
prop and shaft
outside. I carry a spare stuffing box and have most O-rings and
bushings.. just in case.
Good luck.. and happy sailing
