Just found this group.... Where have I been?
I'm on the Gulf Coast of Florida and have owned our Vega since it was
new. I believe it's hull V2762. It is documented.
My wife and I lived aboard her for about three years, starting out in
the Northern Chesapeake Bay in Maryland and ending up here in Florida
Gulf Coast.
Unfortunatly... we need to find a good home for it. And it needs to be
someone that's not afraid of interior work... and will value the boat!
We had kept the boat moored behind our house, and used it less and
less as life progressed. The biggest problem we had was kids getting
on the boat and breaking in. The final straw was when they broke the
hoses for the cockpit drain. When the water would go out, the boat
would heel over and take on water. We were not aware of the water
down below, till it reached a critical mass and started to sink. We
had it pumped out and towed to a dry dock facility where it still sits.
The hull is in good shape, but the interior has really suffered and
needs a lot of work. I don't have the time or energy to tackle this.
If you are the person who can see beyond the immediate, and has the
vision to know how glorious the Vega is.... Contact me.
My hope is that this group will spread the word and help me find the
right person.
