Vega #385 Down the Inside Passage

Last summer, Tom Straughn bought Vega #385, "Williwa" in Petersburg Alaska. Then three old geezers (I was the youngest at 65) took her down the inside passage, nearly 800 miles, to Port Townsend, WA. Adventure is exactly the right word for it. I am putting together the video now. Part 1 is up at

Part 2 uploaded last night. When we set off from Petersburg, all the electronics worked. By the time we got to Prince Rupert, the radar, GPS and depth sounder had failed. Only the VHF still worked. Tom and I managed to fix the depth sounder and we had brought along a couple of hand-held GPS recievers and a UB353 for tom's laptop but the radar was toast."Fair winds"Chuck RoseSV Lealea, V1860
