Hi Gang
The Vega I'm in the process of acquiring is # 3175.
I gather that's near the end of the run right? They only made 3000 odd as I
understand it. So she'd be from the late 1970s right? '76 or 77' maybe?
Anyne have a similar # that might help me dope out more details on her?

Andy, believe they made 3450 Vegas. What engine do you have. If the baot
had or has a MD6a you have a series II and if the boat has or had a MD7A
6you have a series III. There are subtle differences.

Hi Andy

From the number she is either a late Series 2 or an early Series 3. If she
has an MD6B then she is a Series 2. If she has the MD7A then she is a Series
3. The Series 3 also has teh wide cockpit coamings and the pronounced
anti-slip areas.

She will have been made 1976 - 1977

Hope this helps.

Andy:

Look at the upper-starboard side of the transom. Doesn't it have a number
that represents the month, date and year of manufacture?

Hey thanks for the tips
Alas she has no engine. Outboard only.
Worse she has a wooden mast. Serviceable but about a meter too short.
I have a long haul restoring her properly.
Anyway hope all is well
Cheers

Hi Andy

Just cheked teh Database and 3176 is a Series 3 with a MD7A engine. So you
are looking at 1977/8 Series 3 Vega.

If you need any more details then let me know.
