VC17 Every Year?

I know that spring is a long time but I survive the winter by asking boaters lots of questions. When we hauled out in October the bottom of our boat was super clean. Not too much green stuff at all. Does that mean that we can possibly save our money and miss a year of the annual coating of VC17? It had two hits of it 2 seasons back and then another one in the spring. The only place where I might consider a splash would be the foredge of the keel and possibly the rudder. Comments?

Don't know if you're in fresh or salt water. With my previous O'Day 240 in fresh water, I went three years between new VC 17. Took the boat out of the water and power washed the bottom each year. Salt water might be completely different issue.

Dan, Starting this coming spring I am thinking of doing the same thing. Apply a full coat every two years and touch up in between. I have talked to a number of owners at my YC who do this and I can't see any difference between mine and their hulls at haulout. Are you in Kingston, Ont.? The reason I ask is regarding your comment about how clean your bottom was at haulout. I am in the Toronto area and there is always a lot of green slim on the hull at haulout, and I use my boat a lot, so its not sitting around. I have always been disappointed with VC17 in that regard.
