I've just run into a problem I'm having trouble making sense out of.
I normally leave the door to the Vberth latched open. Recently, while sweeping the cabin sole I went to close the door, but it wouldn't close. Upon closer inspection I found that although the top of the door seems fine, the bottom edge of the door protrudes about an inch or so past the door frame.
Now, the boat has been on the hard for several years, so the only possible thing I could come up with is that the entire bulkhead may have shifted. Does this sound possible? What else could cause this? It's a lot more than warpage could cause.
Also, what do I do to remedy the situation? The simple solution is to trim the door so it closes, but that only attacks the symptom, not the cause.
Thanks

Just a guess but it could be that your coach roof is sagging. This happens when the mast support is failing. You should find a lot of information about this under Boat Info, Owner's Modifications. Check more than just one model, maybe the H27 and H30 as well as your H33. Also use "Search" to check the archives.

Before you go to far down the road check to see if the glue that holds the rails and stiles of the door together is still holding. On my H-30 the glue failed and the lower stile slipped down out of place. Looked ok, but the door wouldn't close.

I had to take the door off, take it apart. Clean all the seams with mineral spirits and re-glue all the joints. I used straps to hold it all in place until the glue dried..

I have a 33 and alignment does change over time. being on the hard does not help at all. do not cut anything till the boat has been back in the water for a good amount of time. The compression post is aluminum and not likely to be that badly deteriorated, but it's base support could be, but that is not a noted problem on the 33. Look closely at the tabbing inside the lockers on both sides in that ares. Some tabbing is known to pull away from the hull. Where are the supporting poppets in relation to the affected area? Does the hull look OK or pushed in on the outside?

How about pictures of the problem area and the tabbing areas?
