George, On a Hunter 26 there are many factors
that influence price such as; year, trailer, trailer condition, tires, sail inventory and condition, instrumentation, marine head vs. porta potty, bottom condition (bottom paint, blisters), outboard (year, 2cycle vs. 4cycle), shore power, battery type, galley set-up, stern rail seats, and on and on.We have a "mint" 95 H26 we bought last year and hauled 1100 miles home as it was the only one we could find after 5 months of looking very hard.Every owner also adds new gear to his new boat. Us too.End of the story, it is the largest and best towable sailboat we could find out of any maker on the market. The book says the value is like 12 to 14k. I have just over 1/3 more in it and she beats everything, up to 2x more than her, for what we do and expect. My thought is, that unless you race a sailboat, it is an investment out of the heart for what you want it for and within your means.RayS/V Speedy
