I have been offered a 1993 Hunter 23.5, but the eBay seller provided a hull number that did NOT end in 93. Do Hunter boats of this vintage have transom hull numbers that indicate year manufactured? HUNxxxxxxxxx93?

Yes the last two digits are the year of manufacture. If you see the boat this number should be embossed in the gelcoat, on the aft part of hull on starboard side. If it is a plate screwed or rivetted onto the boat it not likely the correct number, could be a stolen boat.

...that the seller gives you? Does it look OK? If not, forget the deal. You will have the same problems when you try to register it!!
