We splashed the Valiant today and I gotta say, she looks better outside then she did in the shop.

all i can say is "WOW" that is stunning. OUTSTANDING work. i hope if i ever need a boat restored i can find you, and can afford you. but after looking at the Valiant how can you put a price on beauty like that!!!! i cant wait to see Oh Joy when you get her done.

It depends on the boat size. A total paint for another Valiant 40 (above the WL and bottom paint including materials) would run about $8000 and the varnish about a grand. That includes epoxy filler primer, an LPU (2 coats), two coats of bottom paint and the wood being stripped bare with 8-10 coats of varnish following. It also depend on which paint the customer wants. An Awlgrip job is slightly higher because of materials costs.

My local competition (all of them) charges 9-10K for the above waterline paint alone on the same boat....

However, as new as we are and being in need of work, I'd do a boat (total hull paint) for $180.00 per foot including materials.
