I replaced mine a few years back. It was "U" shaped at the bottom. I got it at West Marine. I don't have ready access to the item No. though - but it is in the archives somewhere in the house. It went in fine and has worked well since. I not only replaced the Vee Berth hatch gasket, but the two Gull Wing hatches also.

Simpler fix it to go to the hardware store and get a roll of weather seal. It's sticky on one side. I used a 1/2 inch x 3/8 in wide black. Cleaned the upper inside surface with some alchohol and applied. I placed it adjacent the original seal and mitered the ends for a very tight fit. Works really well. $4.65 a roll. When the hatch is open it expands back to its original shape after being compressed when closed.

Sounds like a way to also improve the insulation on the icebox lid. Thanks.
