UV prot. or not, think seriously about getting the
Sunbrella strip, regardless. I got a new 240 in '99; both myself and the dealer were skeptical of the claim, but i decided to keep it UV strip-free to see what would happen. I was an active trailer-sailor. After 3 years, i don't think the sun did any damage, but the rest of the elements did: chafe from tiedowns, crutch and bow pulpti, birdcrap, bugs, road grime all took their toll. I decided to get the UV strip and my sailmaker said i rescued my genoa just in time. So, unless you are relentless in making certain the above elements don't damage your brand new sail, i would suggest breaking loose another $180 and letting the Sunbrella take the abuse instead.enjoy!Brian
