using a 170 genoa

well its been four weeks now that the shop hasnt had the time to install my roller furler. the jib is in the shop too for modifying it for the furler. i have been sailing around with my storm jib until now and need to do something different. i have a 170 genoa in a bag that i never used. might be a good time to try it. what is the most wind i should consider using the 170 with, and here comes a real dumb one-will the 170 be okay for anything but a close haul. thanks
