Does anyone know where I can find a used spinaker! Buying new doesn't make sence. Either a Sym or an A-sym will work. I have a source on a used Pole. Kevin

Used sail sources.

There are many online sources starting right here on HOW in "Gear Here"(under Boats for Sale). I bought mine from Minney's: http://www.minneysyachtsurplus.com/ Others are: Sail Warehouse(Related Link) http://www.usedsails.com/ http://www.baconsails.com/

Used Sails

I've had great luck with used sails. In addition to the sources listed below, try Bacons in Annapolis. They will let you return the sail if it doesn't work for you. See link below.

Deals are out there!

JKevin, Just keep a sharp "internet eye" out for those deals on eBay and the used gear section on this site, which is where I found an Air Force asymmetrical spinnaker from a nice guy in New York State. He said it was used just a few times and the dimensions on his boat, although not a Hunter 285, were almost an exact match to mine. It looked new and came with a bag and ATN tacker, which I recommend getting also. I bought the spinnaker halyard and snatch blocks on ebay at a very low price. The rest of the gear to rig it I got from my local marina although I'm sure I could have found the items used and in new to good condition. So my advice is patience and start looking now. Fair winds! Bob
