In removing the mixing elbow on my ancient SB 8, it broke off where it threads into the silencer box. (Unfortunately, the old silencer ended up in the trash before I though about taking it to a machine shop. Learned that lesson the hard way....) Replacing the box with a new part is ~ $370 from the usual suspects. Is there a source of used SB 8 parts I might check with as a less expensive alternative? Thanks for your help.

Just went down that road with YSM-12

I spent $200 after having the same problem with a 1979 H30. i tried a machine shop and he recommended buying new parts. Try marine Diesel direct online at: http://www.marinedieseldirect.com/how-welcome.html These guys are great! Good luck and don't let any fumes get into your cabin! Sam

Thanks, Sam

Thanks.... rang them and they beat the other price by $60. Every bit helps. BTW, saw the Cherry Point address...was just down there last week doing some business at the NADEP. Stayed south of Atlantic Beach, had great seafood at Squatters. Wish life could always be that good! Cheers, Keith McC
