Hello : I have an Oday 25 I want to donate to Scouts. The boat needs sails. Would you be willing to donate the sails? Please phone me at 253-329-4174 or email me in reply. Thank you, Allen Engel, former member of BSA Troop 90, Portland Oregon.
The O'Day 25 is a great boat. Very dry, it handles the worst of Lake Michigan's weather but it's terrible at low speed turning and it feels unstable until you hit 20-25 degrees of heel. It's very difficult to get it to heal more than 25-30 degrees. I miss mine a lot
Wonderful reply. I miss my 25 foot Warm Wind. It was built in 1968. I was told that it was designed to sail from Long Beach to Catalina. But the 2 piece Tupperware type construction always concerned me. It had a terrific deep keel which was great for Puget Sound weather. But I seemed to have a good talent for finding reefs. I went looking for it on the internet some years ago, and it appears that it is still sailing.
