Used Boat Covers - do they exsist? Hunter 34

Is their such thing as a used boat cover? Our budget might have to wait a couple of years - quote was about $3500. The Vermont winters can cause damage to boats and most owners cover their boats. I think we might have to get creative and make one. A good one. Any Diagram of owner-made covers - welcomed. Appreciate any advice,Stephanie

I think by the time someone is ready to sell his cover, it would be worn out - otherwise why sell it? You might find that a good alternate solution would be to shrink wrap it yourself.(if your marina permits it) A group of us pooled our efforts and can now shrink wrap a boat in less than 3 hours, at a cost of less than $100 per boat. It really isnt very hard to do. The shrink wrap stays on through the blustery winters we have in Erie,PA.

Shelburne Shipyard

Stephanie, Our 34 is in Shelburne shipyard, there are lots of covers on boats there. Take a walk through and you will see lots of variations. I have made a few different ones and finally settled on one that works well. I have a 1x6 that runs the length of the boat, supported by A frames, just above the boom. 1" conduit is bent over to form a tent shape from this board. Cover is plastic that goes over the frame. You are welcome to take a look. Sounds like someone may want to sell one though, that would be better. Good luck, dave
