Hi all.I have a standard roller furling headsail on my Vega. In winds much over F4 I substitute with a much smaller hanking headsail (prob number 3) that I have fitted with slugs so it can be used with the roller furling foil.My jib halyard is 10mm pre-stretched braid on braid. It does stretch a little and when I use the small headsail the metre or so of halyard joining the peak of the sail to the swivel can kink which can foul the swivel. So I made up a strop (again with braid on braid) approx a metre with snap hooks at each end to secure the foot of the sail to the furling drum.So only a few cm of halyard between peak of sail and swivel. No more jams.. Great. But the centre of effort (right term ?) of the sail is now a metre or so higher than it otherwise needs be - precisely on the breezy days when I want to keep it low.Should I fit a wire strop to the peak of the sail - solves the stretch problem and wouldn't jam?Suggestions welcome.ThanksJohn V1447 Breakaway
