Has anyone used Cetol Light to refinish the wood inside their cabin? Any words of wisdom or caution? Is there a better choice?

I tried it...

I used it on a small piece of interior teak I had to repair. it was the only marine varnish i had on hand. It is just what you'd expect. It has the thickish coating that is characteristic of Cetol without so much orange color. There are better products to finish with out there. I wouldan't recomend Cetol light for the interior.

finish woodwork inside

I've been thinking about it for the past few years. I finally jumped in and sanded everything down to bare wood. then put lemon oil on it and its absolutly beautiful. nothing to yellow, peal or blisher, easy to maintain, just wipe it down again in a few months. Its great!!!

Seafin

Steve: Use Seafin for the interior. This was the original product that Hunter used on their interior. It is an oil based finish (part Tung Oil) that you just wipe on with a rag. Nothing any easier and probably not much better either. It is not varnish but does not take the time and trouble of varnish either. Cetol is really not a suitable finish for interiors. Good stuff for the exterior.

Cetol...

One of the things I happen to like about my Hunter is it has minimal teak outside. Since I use (and love) Cetol on it, it is nearly impossible to use a quart of the stuff and the shelf life is reduced once the can is opened. So....I've taken to using Cetol on some of my interior wood, too. So far, I've used it on teak book racks and the folding table in the cabin. I happen to like the way they turned out and plan to use more of that original quart of regular Cetol inside the boat. It's easy to use and, IMHO, looks nice. This is clearly a subjective issue: you either like the way it looks or you don't.
