When you see "USD" by a boat price, what does the "USD" stand for?

USD??

Greg is correct,it designates the price is in U.S. Dolars, so as not to be confused with pounds, drakmas, or peso's.

What does FOB mean?

Perhaps acronym fans could also enlighten me as to the meaning of FOB. I often see it quoted along with a boat price.

Freight on Board

FOB usally is used with a particular destination meaning the cost of shipping has been added to the price at that location

FOB - Freight On Board

Tony, Although defined as Freight On Board, it really means from here the shipment is paid from. As in: FOB Miami would mean that freight charges would be from Miami to whereever it was delivered. Obviously the best would FOB and then whatever your homeport or dealer was. Most often it's FOB whereever the builder is. Steve

FOB = plus freight

FOB does stand for "freight on board," all right...it means that the mfr absorbs the cost of getting something to the shipping terminal, then shipping charges are added to the FOB price. Sometimes those charges can be calculated from the actual shipping point...sometimes they're a flat rate from, for instance, the main plant no matter where it was shipped from. This can mean that ever buyer pays the same shipping charge, whether the shipment travels two city blocks or 2,000 miles. That's how vehicles are shipped. Different boat builders use different methods.
