Uric Scale

Peggy, any suggestions about getting rid of uric scale on the bottom of the head?
We are in fresh water and also have used KO and CP exclusively for years!

But! Uric scale is the calcium salt of uric acid. White vinegar should do the trick. If that does not work try any of the commercial hard water stain removers. Dilute muriatic acid comes to mind.

CLR should dissolve it...white vinegar should prevent it.

will this harm my chemical balance in the holding tank? Should I pour it in with the bowl dry? CLR...

The holding tank should be thoroughly flushed out 2-3 x/season--and also in preparation for winter or other extended layup--to eliminate sludge anyway, so it won't matter if CLR upsets the balance in it. Use it according to directions on the bottle.
