I am replacing the upper shrouds on my 1990 Capri 22. They are routed through the plastic end cap on the spreader and I am wondering how to get the end cap off the old and onto the new shroud cable without damaging the plastic cap. Any guidance is much appreciated!

Thank you for the suggestion. Catalinadirect.com sells an aftermarket end cap for the Capri 22 but it is different from the original and needs customer adjustment. I did talk to their tech support and they suggested drilling a hole in the section that ends up inside the spreader (about where the cable is in the picture above) that's big enough to pull the end of the shroud through. That's what I did and it worked out great.
