Peggy, At various times you have recommended replacing an aluminum holding tanks with plastic and specifically sugggested that Ronco Plastics had good products for that purpose. I have a Hunter 42P .. 1997 model .. and need a replacement holding tank. When I contacted Ronco they indicated that they had nothing that would fit.. Any other suggestions? Thanks

Did you check their catalog?

Or only call and ask them if they have an identical replacement for your boat? If that's all you did, since they don't make tanks for Hunter, of course they'd say no. There are more than 400 molds in their catalog...it's a very rare boat that can't be fitted with one of 'em. Will it be an exact replacement? No. So don't try to match the tank, look for one that fits the space. Their catalog is at http://www.ronco-plastics.com

Their tanks can be oriented any direction, btw...

There is no top or bottom till the fittings are installed, and you get to spec where they go...so even the edge of a tank can be the bottom if need be, as long as the tank is supported. I can't count the number of times a customer couldn't find a fit until we started rotating tanks, flipping 'em end for end, etc. They may not have one that'll fit...but I wouldn't give up just yet. If both heads are connected to the same tank, and if either head is more than about 6-8' from it, you'd be better off looking for two new locations for two tanks instead...or better yet--if you're in coastal waters, that is--now would be an excellent time to add a Lectra/San and replace your existing tank with a much smaller one.

Hi Jim, we have a 1991 P42 with an...

original SS tank. At some point it will need to be replaced. Would you please let me know how your replacement efforts turn out? Thanks Terry
