Catalina 22 Mark 1 Thunderbird Lake
I have had a Catalina 22 for the last six years and loved it, but it is just too small for doing overnights for my wife and me. I am about a week away from buying a used Catalina 250 water ballast boat in good condition. I would welcome any input in this upgrade. The new boat is a 1995 Catalina 250 from Michigan where it has spent a lot of its life in indoor storage.

Jim;
As with all water ballast boats, always look at the boat in the water to ensure there are no leaks. Does the boat come with a trailer. Is there a mast raise system with the boat. If so, describe it as there were two offered the first one on deck and the other later one using a trailer with a different way. I use to be a small boat Catalina dealer who sold many of the boats but now retired.

I'm in the market as were . Colonial Beach
Crazy Dave is right and he is the guy to talk to about these kinds of boats. They also make a wing keel version and I have seen them on a trailer as well.

I use to be a Catalina dealer and sold many. The 250 is offered in the wing keel and also water ballast. I can remember when Frank Butler said of the water ballast boats as a bunch of bull but did ask me about them. He built them. Send me a private email with phone and location Jim Eller and include C 250 in subject matter as I get so many junk emails.
