Peggy,
I have looked through the threads but forgive me if this has been covered.
I own a fifty year old sailboat, an International 500. This boat features a bronze Wilcox and Crittenden head, which is stamped Junior 51. The bowl on this had been damaged and repaired at some point in the past. The bowl gave up the ghost last year.
I contacted a very good marine supply store in Toronto, told them the model and they sent me a replacement. I was assured that most porcelain bowls were pretty well standard, and this one would fit W-Cs, Thetfords and so on. It is the same height and the top of the bowl has the same diameter, but the base on my original bowl sat on was five and a quarter inches, with the bolts four and a quarter inches apart on the diagonal -- the modern bowl is an inch or more narrower in diameter.
How would one find a non-standard bowl? This head was very well made, and I would hate to have to give it up because modern bowls won't fit.
Any help would be gratefully received.
