We are interested in having our mast un-stepped on our 30 foot 1981 Hunter. Has anyone out there with the same size and age sailboat done this before?

We are stepping out 1999 280 this weekend and we've decided to rent a local sign crane company. $100 and all the worry is GONE! Hope all goes well!
We stepped and un-stepped our mast, 50ft above waterline and double spreaders, every year for about 5 yrs then we fabicated a "yard trailer", we never had any problems, id the wiring, we used quick conects in such a way that the black wire had to go to the correspoding black wire then reversed the connectors for the other black wire. Slow and easy is the secret. Good luck

Each fall the yard that stores my H-30 steps the mast so the can move the boar down the block to the storage yard....... give me a good opportunity to check the rigging.......

Ours was down two years ago. The marina did it for us and helped install a furler for the jib when it went back up. Like everyone else we did the electronics while it was down.
