Peggy, I have a marine toilet on my 1978 Hans Christian 38 that has no manufacturer's label, aside from a sticker that says, "Made in Canada" (French and English). Instructions ("Dry Bowl", "Wet Bowl") are also labeled in both French and English. The construction/configuration is similar to the Jabsco, which has a vertical pump on the side. However, where the Jabsco pump handle is angled slightly forward, the pump handle on my toilet is dead vertical. Do you have any idea what the source is for this sanitary work of art? I'd like to be able to buy a rebuild kit, and to get some idea concerning the quality of the unit. Thank you, James

I'm 99% certain it's a Bryden Boy

And it has to be totally worn out aft 23 years. Bryden was Canadian company (no relation to the current Bryden marine distributors) that made the Jabsco compact under the Bryden Boy under a licensing agreement with Jabsco. They've been out of business for at least 15 years. It was fairly well made toilet--especially compared to its current US counterpart, and Jabsco does still offer a rebuild kit for it--a "universal" kit that fits several obsolete toilets), but no replacement hardware. I wouldn't even put a rebuild kit in a 20+ year old toilet you can replace for $100... the pump has to be so worn by now that it won't help much...and sure as you do, the pump housing will start to leak or something will break, and since you can't get parts, you'll just have to replace it anyway. Everything has a life-span...and your toilet reached the statistical end of its life about 10 years ago.
