Unknown Brackets

Can Anyone tell me what these are for? My O'day 22 has the on the starboard side only, and I have no idea what they are for.

There used to be an Australian manufactured folding boarding ladder that came with two sets of these. One set for the side and one for the stern. Then ladder was fairly cumbersome to move and easily dropped overboard.

Me too. A good option, as the width of the coamings on that boat makes it difficult to hang a ladder over the side. I use one of those ladders with the hooks at the top, and hang it over the side. I have the biggest radius hooks there are, and the ladder only fits over the coaming at the extreme aft end (where it is narrowest). And the ladder is less than ideal because it really isn't deep enough to make climbing out of the water easy. The other option is to permanently mount a ladder on the transom, but then you have to deal with climbing over the pushpit every time you use it. .

We have them on both sides of out 22, they are on top as opposed to the side. They appear that they will work fine, the ladder has an arm that goes toward the side of the boat to sort of have the ladder kicked out.
